Miss Willis had always planned to make London her home when she retired from the school. She moved to No 57 York Terrace in early 1947 and lived there very happily for eleven years. York Terrace is just south of the Outer Circle in Regent’s Park and members of staff, past pupils and their families were often welcomed there. She kept up quite a pace in York Terrace, attending meetings, delivering sermons and addresses and attending a great number of Downe House weddings. The house itself is no longer there.
