Downe House is seeking a peripatetic Music Teacher specialising in Violin and Viola to teach 35-minute lessons to individual pupils. The position is for approximately 1.5 days/ 11 hours of teaching per week. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and thriving independent boarding and day school for girls.
The Music Department at Downe House encourages pupils to take an exciting musical learning journey with the opportunity to participate in inspiring musical projects, performances, bands, choirs, and orchestras. We have a dedicated team of specialist music staff who are committed to making music accessible to all students, whatever their ability, nurturing a love of music that will last a lifetime. The ideal candidate should have experience of teaching Violin and Viola to students aged 11-18 and have a clear understanding of relevant syllabi e.g. ABRSM, Trinity.
VMTs are directly employed by the school and paid £23.75 per 35-minute lesson. We also offer mileage payments to those travelling more than 20 miles to the school from their home.
